A strong central US storm brings severe thunderstorms to south-central and eastern Kansas Monday afternoon and evening, and 1 to 3 inches of wind-driven rain to Minnesota, the Dakotas and Wisconsin Monday into midweek. Drought is still severe to exceptional in central and southern Missouri, and low rivers are squeezing barge traffic, though this rain should help.

Drops to Green if Monday's Kansas storms stay scattered and the upper Midwest rain stays steady rather than heavyGoes Orange if Monday's Kansas storms form a damaging wind line with tornadoes, or Minnesota rain totals go well above 3 inches
