YellowRegional levelUnchanged from yesterday

A strong Plains storm brings wind, steady rain and possible strong storms to the western and northern Midwest on Monday, then moves into the Mississippi Valley on Tuesday. Much of the region is in drought, including extreme to exceptional drought (D3-D4) over central and southern Missouri, so most of the rain is welcome, and no broad disruption is underway.

Drops to Green if Monday-Tuesday storms stay mostly below severe levels and the rain eases drought without flooding.Goes Orange if Storms on Monday night or Election Day bring widespread wind damage, outages or flash flooding in Missouri or Illinois.
