Election Day winds and storms: scattered small outages, one Kansas City polling place lost power
KFVS12 reported 576 customers without power in southern Illinois, southeast Missouri and western Kentucky at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, blamed on gusty southerly winds ahead of a cold front, with damaging winds possible in a storm line late in the day. KCTV5 reported the Blue Ridge Church of Christ polling place in south Kansas City lost power in the morning; the election board used battery backups and sent voters to nearby sites, and power was restored. Evening storm results were not found.
