Southwest Colorado and northwest New Mexico flooding: roads closed, evacuations partly lifted
The Denver Gazette (Nov 3) listed U.S. 160 closed 30 miles through Pagosa Springs and 33 miles over Wolf Creek Pass, CO 151 washed out for about 4 miles, CO 17 closed 39 miles from Antonito to the New Mexico line, and parts of U.S. 550 north of Durango underwater; CDOT's goal is to reopen before winter. A KRQE headline said some roads reopened and evacuations were partially lifted. The Albuquerque Journal reported San Juan County, N.M., issued notices to more than 20,000 people near the Animas, La Plata and San Juan rivers, with a Farmington crest forecast of 12.7 feet and normal flow expected Tuesday or Wednesday.
