The Pacific Maritime Association and ILWU Local 26 (about 250 watchmen) extended the deadline by one day to midnight Pacific time Friday, Nov. 6; this is the second delay, after an earlier move from Nov. 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesday (FreightWaves, Reuters via Baird Maritime). The watchmen work at terminals that handle about 85% of Long Beach's and 33% of Los Angeles's cargo, and the employer group expects other ILWU members to honor picket lines.
