South Central Texas: Flood Watch listed as 1 to 3 inches of rain forecast Saturday through Monday

The NWS Austin/San Antonio page (updated 2:46 a.m. CST Saturday) lists a Flood Watch and a Rip Current Statement without details we could read. Its forecast calls for steady light to moderate rain Saturday through Monday with totals of 1 to 3 inches and isolated pockets up to 5 inches; because the rain is long-lasting, the office calls the flood threat low for most areas, with a highlighted area of greater potential. MySA reported the weekend flood risk at up to Level 2 of 4 for San Antonio. We could not read the watch's county list, so check weather.gov/ewx. NWS Fort Worth shows no North Texas watches.

Deep Ellum shootings: one man charged, other shooters still sought

A 31-year-old man who turned himself in after a FOX 4 'Trackdown' segment faces seven counts of aggravated assault over the Main Street shooting that wounded seven, plus a federal felon-in-possession charge (FOX 4, Nov 5). A second man was arrested on a federal gun charge after allegedly pointing a gun toward a crowd; officials did not name him as a shooter. Police said four people were killed and 15 wounded across three shootings and urged those involved to come forward (CBS Texas). We found no report of further arrests as of the morning of Nov 7; motive and any link among the shootings have not been released. Operation Deep Cover, a federal, state and local effort, and added patrols were announced (FOX 4).
