West Coast, Hawaii and Alaska drivers pay the highest gas prices in the country, and LA/Long Beach port security watchmen could strike Wednesday at 5 p.m. PT if talks fail. Friday's Anchorage windstorm cut power to tens of thousands and Kauai had a flash-flood road closure Saturday, but California's Halloween storm was modest.

Drops to Green if the port watchmen reach a deal or extend talks againGoes Orange if the watchmen strike Wednesday and other dockworkers honor the picket lines

AAA's Oct 29 averages: California $5.94, Hawaii $5.65, Washington $5.24, Oregon $4.83 and Alaska $4.80. Prices are slipping slowly with the winter-blend switch, but crude above $100 limits the drop.
