Reduced Newark-New York rail service continues through Nov. 14

NJ Transit's Portal Bridge cutover page, checked Nov. 6, lists reduced schedules from Oct. 11 to Nov. 14, with regular schedules resuming Nov. 15 subject to safety testing. Trains share a single track between Newark and Secaucus, so fewer trains run into Penn Station New York on weekdays, and Midtown Direct line trains go to Hoboken on weekdays. The page also lists a separate Nov. 6 advisory for Morris & Essex service between Dover and Hackettstown, unrelated to the cutover.
